About the position of Senior HR Business Partner

What can you expect from the Senior HR Business Partner position at Huisman?

Our HR department is still developing, so there is a unique opportunity for you to come up with ideas.

As an HR Business Partner at Huisman, you are the point of contact for HR-related matters for the business units that fall under the board and department managers. You offer HR support on business themes, enabling the business to achieve the set objectives. You give advice to employees and management about the organisation, developments and personnel matters. You come up with ideas about various themes, such as the set-up of departments, strategic personnel management and remuneration and development issues.

You also guide managers through various processes, for example, performance processes. In addition, you continuously work on drawing up and adjusting the HR strategy, by translating the organisational objectives into specific policy.

As an HR Business Partner, you are part of the HR team together with a direct colleague and you report to the HR director. In this position, you work closely with the specialists of Recruitment, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits.

What do we expect of you?

  • Sparring partner in HR topics/agenda;
  • First point of contact for department managers and their team members;
  • Strategic personnel planning, from paper to practice;
  • Support in the Performance Management Cycle;
  • Providing on-the-job training;
  • Support with entry, promotion and exit processes;
  • Support during illness and absenteeism as a case manager;
  • Contributing to the implementation of new HR policy.

You are:

  • someone who is able to gain the trust of the internal organisation in a short period of time;
  • not afraid to say it like it is but you have sufficient sensitivity to convey this message in a pleasant way;
  • someone who values integrity highly;
  • customer oriented.

You have:

  • completed University/ Bachelor degree in an HR-related direction;
  • at least 7-10 years of work experience within the HR field, preferably as an HR Business Partner;
  • up-to-date knowledge of social legislation, labour law and employment conditions;
  • an eye for different, and sometimes conflicting, interests and know how to deal with this in such a way that results are achieved while maintaining relationships;
  • experience within organisations with similar dynamics and culture;
  • an energetic and flexible attitude;
  • teamwork is what you’re all about.

Some practical things we need you to have:

  • An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
  • A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
