About the position of Senior IT System Engineer Storage, Backup and Hypervisor
What to expect of the Senior IT System Engineer Storage, Backup and Hypervisor position within Huisman?
As a Senior IT System Engineer in the global Compute, Storage and Backup IT team at Huisman you are responsible for all storage, backup and hypervisor solutions within Huisman.
As a Senior IT System Engineer, you play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, with a focus on storage, backup and hypervisor systems. You are responsible for designing, implementing, and managing storage solutions, ensuring data integrity, implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.

About the IT department:
Our IT department is responsible for all IT matters in our global offices and assures maximum availability and continuous improvement of IT services. We do so by using best-of-breed technology and hiring highly skilled and motivated employees. Our IT department consists of several global teams and contains around 60 people.
The teams are divided into several disciplines:
- Compute, Storage and Backup;
- Cloud and Collaboration Services;
- Networking;
- End User Computing and Support;
- CAD/PLM;
- ERP.
We are looking for a Senior IT System Engineer for the Compute, Storage and Backup team.
What do we expect of you?
As Senior IT System Engineer, you handle support requests and you are responsible for managing technical environments such as Nutanix and/or Commvault backup environments within Huisman.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintenance and support for Nutanix and/or CommVault environments;
- Answering complex and technical questions;
- Leading and participating in (lifecycle) projects;
- Creating technical design documents;
- Performing impact analysis for changes;
- Identifying and addressing advice about risk and single-point-of-failure areas that might impact availability;
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to storage, backup.

You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a System Engineer, with a focus on storage, backup and hypervisor technologies;
- Proven experience with Nutanix products and/or CommVault products;
- Microsoft certification preferred;
- ITIL Foundation;
- Prince2 or equivalent;
- Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols;
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills,
- Ability to coach and mentor colleagues.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
