About the position of CNC milling/ boring machine setter-operator
Do you want to become a CNC miller? Then our BBL training programme to become a CNC Miller is definitely for you! You will work four days and go to school one day. We pay for this day too, of course. And once you work at Huisman, you'll have every opportunity to take further training courses. But we haven't reached that point yet. First, your training to become a CNC router. What do we expect of you?
Are you passionate about making beautiful products from a block of steel? If you already have a senior secondary vocational education diploma, you can join as a CNC milling/boring machine setter-operator straight away. But if you have the ambition to obtain your senior secondary vocational education diploma, we offer a block or day release course (BBL) where you not only earn a salary but can also get your diploma.
As a BBL student of technology at our company, you work four days a week as an approved work placement company. You will be undertaking various activities and get the opportunity to develop yourself in the field. In addition, you go to school one day a week to brush up on your theoretical knowledge. You work together with fellow specialists and contribute to healthy and efficient production.
As a CNC milling/boring machine setter-operator, you are responsible for the machining techniques. The CNC milling machine is most important. You are involved in programming and setting up the machines, and you think about and contribute to the improvement of methodologies and production techniques. The ultimate goal is to make high-quality products for the customer, within the specified tolerances and values.
As a CNC miller/boring machine setter-operator, you produce large parts, including slewing bearings with a diameter of up to 7 metres! Does this sound exciting, but would you rather work on an even bigger project? How about a bearing section with a diameter of up to 30 metres?
As a professional, you work with a small team. Together you take on the challenge of delivering engineered components for Huismans’ ever-growing systems in time and according to the highest standard.

You are:
- Motivated and eager to learn;
- Flexible and creative;
- Practical and punctual;

- Not afraid to take responsibility.
You have:
- Pre-vocational education/senior secondary vocational education in technique, senior general secondary education or currently following senior general secondary education or pre-university education;
- Sense of production and the drive to become a craftsman.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
