About the position of QC Inspector
What to expect of the QC Inspector position within Huisman?
The primary role of the Huisman QC Discipline is to proactively ensure that the work is done in compliance with the quality objectives and -requirements set-out in the contracts. All the inspections are related to materials, welding, non-destructive and destructive testing, machining, painting, functional acceptance of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment- and load tests of individual components or completed assemblies. The inspections are carried out after receiving a request from, the supply chain department or from production, however, and earlier involvement and familiarization with ongoing projects is expected.

What do we expect of you?
As Quality-Control Inspector, you will act as the eyes and ears of the Project team on both, manufacturing plants and suppliers and subcontractors from Huisman as well as our client yards. In this role he/she will report to the Quality Control Manager and the Project manager who is responsible for the relevant part of the scope of work.
The Quality Control Inspector has the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute for the specific quality activities at our projects;
- Assess if the quality requirements of (semi-)finished products are sufficiently documented and if they meet the technical specifications in both the contract and applicable technical standards;
- Maintain open communication with the project team on the planning, implementation and follow-up of ITPs;
- Witness and have quality inspections and tests;
- Conduct, witness and monitor quality inspections on the semi-finished works or delivered components at the construction site(s) in relation to the subcontractor’s ITP;
- Review and discuss quality Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in relation to the work execution plans, the contract and applicable technical standards;
- Perform a final inspection on the finished works just before hand-over to the client or in case of subcontracted work to our organisation;
- Support the Project Team in reviewing Contractor’s hand-over documentation on quality, completeness and consistency.
Wondering if you are 'equipped for impact'?
You are:
- willing to undertake specific relevant trainings;
- an excellent observer;
- flexible;
- a good communicator at both technical and project management level.
You have:
- Bachelor degree or working and thinking level, obtained through education and/or experience. (mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, mechatronics etc);
- Relevant qualifications such as CSWIP, NACE, AWS, VT and NDT is a plus;
- Demonstrable knowledge of applicable technical standards;
- Preferably experience in a broad, similar working environment;
- Preferably experience with specific work experience in mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulically.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
