About the position of Data Engineer
Huisman Digital is a young and ambitious team with a passion for helping our customers to keep things working by means of digitalization. We are only at the beginning of a great adventure! Our ambition is to offer our customers digital solutions supporting our equipment during the complete lifecycle.
We are working on a rapidly growing customer platform. Would you like to join us in this great adventure and help us realize our ambitions? To strengthen the Huisman Digital team, we are looking for a Data Engineer. As a Data Engineer you will play a pivotal role in advancing the way we leverage data to monitor, maintain, and optimize our global equipment portfolio. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining robust ETL pipelines to extract, process, and store data from equipment deployed worldwide.
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine a sustainable and scalable data framework. You will use your expertise to develop tooling that enables Huisman engineers to leverage the full potential of equipment data. Beyond your technical contributions, you will actively shape the vision and strategic direction of our growing analytics team, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of data-driven innovation

What do we expect of you?
As a Data Engineer your responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines;
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance analysis tools;
- Contribute to the creation of a scalable framework;
- Streamline the analysis processes within Huisman;
- Shape the vision and direction of the analytics team.
Wondering if you are 'equipped for impact'?
You are:
- Analytically strong;
- Accurate and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility;
- Good in planning and organizing;
- A good team player;
- Proactive and convincing.
You have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering;
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL pipeline development;
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud;
- Experience with C++ will be considered an asset. We are also open to a candidate who wants to learn this skill;
- A proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and the ability to think analytically and strategically;
- An intrinsic drive to continuously improve, standardize, and contribute to the direction of a growing team.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
