About the position of Business Line Manager port logistics
What to expect of Business Line Manager position within Huisman?
We are looking for a new business line manager to further expand the Port Logistics market. As Business Line Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction of the Port Logistics business line, ensuring alignment with Huisman’s overarching strategy and long-term commercial objectives. You will translate market insights into viable product strategies and act as a key liaison between internal teams, clients, and strategic partners.

What do we expect of you?
The Business Line Manager for Port logistics defines and executes the business line strategy, oversees the technical and commercial completeness of the sales offers and ensures alignment between market opportunities, product development, and operations. Acting as the link between commercial, engineering and execution, the Business Line Manager ensures Huisman can offer competitive solutions for port logistics customers worldwide. In addition, the Business Line Manager leads the biannual business plan cycle for Port Logistics, updating and steering the business line in line with market feedback, customer demand, and company strategy.
In this strategic leadership role, you will shape the future of Port Logistics and drive growth through innovation and collaboration.
You will:
- Define and deliver the strategic roadmap in line with corporate objectives.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions.
- Analyse market trends and business performance to guide strategic decisions.
- Lead tender and concept development processes, ensuring technical and commercial excellence.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Support complex negotiations and ensure contracts meet legal and commercial standards.
- Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure operational compliance and effective stakeholder engagement across all activities.

You are:
- A confident and inspiring leader who can align and coach cross-functional teams.
- Strategic in thinking, but pragmatic in delivery.
- Comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Driven by results, while keeping an eye on the human factor and committed to continuous improvement.
You have:
- A master's degree or equivalent.
- Ten to 15 years of relevant experience.
- A strong commercial and technical background in port logistics.
- A proven track record of successfully managing business lines or operational units.
- The ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution supervision.
- Experience in tender management, product development, and customer negotiations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- An analytical mindset, capable of translating market insights into actionable strategy.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
