About the position of Junior Data Analyst
What to expect from the Junior Data Analyst position at Huisman
As a Junior Data Analyst, you will analyse equipment performance data and help develop reliable, reusable analytics for our engineers and customers. You will work closely with senior programmers and mechanical/maintenance engineers on complex, real-world engineering challenges. In addition, you will play a key role in clearly communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that your insights deliver a lasting impact.
What do we expect of you?
As a Data Analyst at Huisman Digital, you will transform equipment performance data into actionable insights for our clients and internal engineers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing equipment performance data;
- Maintaining and improving our codebook and project configuration files;
- Collaborating with mechanical and maintenance engineers to identify improvement opportunities and deliver data-driven solutions;
- Maintaining, validating, and enhancing analytical tools and models that address complex engineering challenges;
- Communicating findings clearly to stakeholders to drive meaningful action.

If you enjoy mechanical and control engineering challenges and love analysing equipment data to generate insights, tackling programming challenges, dashboards, JSON files, or presentations, then you are a good match for this role.
You are:
- Analytically strong;
- Proactive, with a focus on results and practical, hands-on problem-solving;
- An effective communicator;
- A good team player with a collaborative spirit;
- Passionate about continuous improvement and development;
- Available full-time (32–40 hours per week).
You have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field;
- Hands-on experience with programming, statistical analysis, and dashboard development;
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and familiarity with SQL (PostgreSQL);
- Experience maintaining and improving codebooks and project configuration files;
- Experience contributing to the maintenance, validation, and enhancement of analytical tools and models.
Additionally, it is nice to have:
- Familiarity with Grafana;
- Basic version control (Git), Jupyter Notebooks, and simple ETL/data-cleaning workflows;
- Interest in heavy equipment, offshore/wind, or industrial IoT/telemetry.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
