About the position of Category Buyer Services

What to expect of the Category Buyer Services position within Huisman?

Are you looking for a role where you ensure that components and services required for our projects are ordered on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable quality requirements and processes?

As a Category Buyer, you proactively collaborate with the business. In collaboration with the Category Managers, you initiate the required activities to ensure business continuity. You do not settle for suboptimal solutions and always strive to achieve the best deal.

By working closely with Supply Chain Coordinators and Expeditors, you contribute to the success of our projects—every time.

What do we expect of you?

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing commodity strategies in collaboration with the Category Manager;
  • Ensuring the best price, optimal quality, and on-time delivery of required goods and/or services;
  • Negotiating and implementing supplier contracts and framework agreements for Huisman Services;
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement of goods and/or services;
  • Building and maintaining collaborative and transparent relationships with key suppliers.

Wondering if you are 'equipped for impact'?

You have:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management;
  • Nevi 1 or equivalent and Nevi 2 (or motivated to follow training);
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical organization;
  • Affinity with technology;
  • The ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and effectively prioritize;
  • Strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a sense of ownership.

Some practical things we need you to have:

  • An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;

  • A European Driver’s License;

  • A good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is preferred.
