As Engineering Lead Mechanical, you are responsible for delivering technically complex projects. You contribute to the establishment, compliance with, and continuous improvement of engineering standards, and act as line manager for a team of mechanical engineers.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of engineers in day-to-day operations, in line with discipline objectives and project requirements. You are responsible for performance management within the team and for effective resource allocation, ensuring the right people are assigned to the right tasks and priorities are set appropriately, in close cooperation with your manager.
• Ensuring that discipline deliverables and multidisciplinary designs comply with project requirements and discipline standards, and that the engineering process is correctly applied throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Providing input, based on your professional experience, to support the development and improvement of engineering methods and technologies.
• Monitoring discipline project progress and ensuring that the team works in accordance with the project plan. You actively oversee and contribute to project quality in line with project requirements and report on progress.
• Enhancing discipline and product standards by applying lessons learned from completed and ongoing projects.

You are:

• A decisive and proactive professional, able to make sound decisions even with limited information;
• Results-driven and inspiring, motivating your team to set ambitious goals and achieve them together;
• Organisationally sensitive, with a keen awareness of different team perspectives and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships;
• Living in the Enschede region (max. 50 km one way). Physical presence at the location Enschede is required.

You have:

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Over five to seven years’ experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record;
• Experience leading and guiding a team to achieve top performance;
• Strong planning and organisational skills, able to manage priorities effectively
• Excellent technical knowledge and mechanical expertise, both in design and structural aspects
• The ability to provide clear direction and guidance to your team;
• Coaching and mentoring skills to support the career development of others;
• A sharp eye for improving processes and maintaining high standards of discipline.

• An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
• A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
