What do we expect of you?

As a Mechanical Routing Engineer, you are responsible for designing piping systems, cable routes, access and outfitting, as well as the positioning of hydraulic or electrical components including their associated foundations. Your work is multidisciplinary, and no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing access and outfitting layouts at system, basic and detailed levels for complex systems;
  • Defining design priorities (interfaces, E-rooms, HPUs) within the layout and routing phase.
  • Decide the level of required detail within a project/design based on project requirements;
  • Impact analysis & system overview over the whole system;
  • Acting pro-actively towards all the stakeholders to come to a cost effective design.

  • Analytical with a systematic approach to work;
  • Able to perform effectively under time pressure;
  • Results-driven and customer-focused;
  • Proactive and self-motivated;
  • Up to date with the latest developments in your field of expertise;
  • An excellent communicator;
  • Practical, accurate and punctual.

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an MBO Level 4 technicus engineering; 
  • Experience as a Mechanical Routing Engineer within the offshore or maritime sector;
  • We are also open to candidates who are willing and motivated to learn this role;
  • Experience in both 2D and 3D CAD design; knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor is an advantage;
  • A strong affinity with, or interest in, complex mechanical systems;
  • The ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and to set the right priorities.

Some practical things we need you to have:

  • An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
  • A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
