At Huisman, we're looking for a dynamic Category Buyer to play a key role in our success.

As a Category Buyer, you will be responsible for managing specific procurement categories, such as steel wire ropes and slip rings, within our organisation. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will develop and execute procurement strategies focused on cost savings, quality improvement and supplier performance.

You will be responsible for:

• Sourcing
  You will be the driving force behind sourcing components and services that are critical to our projects. Your mission is to secure them on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Proactive thinking
  As a Category Buyer, you do not wait for problems to arise—you anticipate them. Working closely with our Category Managers, you will initiate key activities that safeguard business continuity.
• Striving for the best
  Good enough is never enough. You challenge suboptimal solutions and continuously strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for our projects.
• Collaboration
  You will work closely with our Category Managers, Supply Chain Project Leads and Expeditors within the Supply Chain team. In addition, you will collaborate with colleagues from Engineering and Project Management to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

In short, you ensure that Huisman achieves the best value for money across your assigned procurement categories.

You are:

• Results-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving objectives and meeting deadlines;
• Analytical, proactive and take ownership of your work.
   

You have:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Engineering;
• NEVI 1 (or an equivalent qualification) Or the willingness to complete this training;
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar procurement role, preferably within a technical environment;
• An affinity with technology;
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and prioritise effectively;
• A practical, hands-on approach and an excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written;
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
