Huisman, the global leader in the design, production and maintenance of heavy construction equipment, has announced its entry into the port & logistics market. The Dutch company has been awarded an order from Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) for a series of Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) for efficient handling and buffering of containers.

Huisman announces that it has been awarded a contract from Subsea7 for the delivery of a 500mt Offshore Mast Crane. The full electric crane will be installed on one of Subsea7’s pipelay vessels and will be deployed for deep water installations.

On Thursday 16 November, Huisman attended the Business Day at De Haagse Hogeschool in Delft, which is organised every six months by the student association NOVA.

Huisman has become a partner of GROW, a joint research programme in offshore wind that initiates research and accelerates innovations. GROW's strength lies in its ability to run focused, sequential and complementary RD&D activities. The consortium includes 20 leading and committed partners that cooperate closely to conduct joint research.

Huisman has signed a partnership agreement with ESD to expand its cable-lay product portfolio and increase its position in the offshore wind market. The agreement will see the combination of ESD’s expertise in designing smart cable-lay solutions with Huisman’s in-house engineering, production and service capabilities of turn-key equipment.

Huisman has announced the launch of a renewed series of subsea Knuckle Boom Cranes for use in the offshore subsea construction market. With this new series, the company’s portfolio has been adapted to the latest trends in offshore construction vessels with respect to energy efficiency, automation, and safety.

Huisman has announced the launch of a newly developed system that empowers crane operators with the ability to anticipate and react to approaching wind speeds, gusts, and direction during the installation process of turbine blades.

On Thursday 12 October, we welcomed 100 enthusiastic students from the Mechanical Engineering programme at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. We invited them to come and see what goes on at Huisman, and to get to know the different roles and activities carried out here.

Every six months, the student association NOVA organises a company day for the students of the Delft University of Applied Sciences.
