What to expect of the Mechatronics Engineer position within Huisman?
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be part of a team committed to developing advanced technologies that are revolutionising the offshore industry and improving operational efficiency. The team consists of passionate professionals who thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

What do we expect of you?
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a mid-level Mechatronic/System Dynamics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechatronics, dynamics and robotics, with a proven track record in designing and implementing complex robotic systems for offshore applications.
This means you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing and testing robotic systems and components for offshore environments.
- Analysing and modelling dynamic systems to ensure optimal performance in challenging offshore conditions.
- Integrating mechanical, electrical and software components into coherent mechatronic systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions tailored to offshore applications.
- Performing simulations and experiments to validate system performance in offshore scenarios.
- Solving technical problems in robotic systems deployed in offshore environments.
- Staying up to date with the latest developments in robotics, mechatronics and offshore technologies.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
You have:
- PhD, Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechatronics, robotics, control engineering or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of dynamics, control systems and robotics.
- Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS (LS-Dyna, Autodyn), OrcaFlex).
- Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python and C++.
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in robotics.
- Knowledge of sensor integration and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with offshore industry standards and practices.
Some practical things we need you to have:
• An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
• A good command of the Dutch and/or English language verbally and in writing.
