About the position of Electrical Engineer
What to expect of the Electrical Engineer within Huisman?
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in the full engineering process, turning complex technical requirements into safe, reliable and innovative electrical solutions. From concept to commissioning, you will see your designs take shape and contribute directly to some of the world’s most impressive and technically challenging equipment.
You will work on a wide range of electrical engineering activities, including single-line diagrams, power system architectures, motion control, instrumentation and network designs, load balances, risk assessments and safety systems. Using industry-standard tools such as MATLAB and SKM, you will also perform load flow, selectivity and short-circuit calculations to ensure robust and reliable system performance.
Your role goes beyond design. You will support our manufacturing and testing activities and prepare the engineering documentation required for classification societies, authorities and other stakeholders. And because engineering does not stop at your desk, you will have the opportunity to visit suppliers, shipyards and production facilities, giving you the chance to see your designs come to life.
You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, closely collaborating with specialists in mechanical engineering, control systems, hydraulics, technical documentation, commissioning and testing. This cross-disciplinary approach gives you the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of our products and contribute beyond your own field of expertise.
As part of our international engineering community, you will also work closely with colleagues in Brazil, China and the Czech Republic, sharing knowledge and contributing to innovative projects delivered around the world.
Personal development and training opportunities are all part of the deal. And let's not forget the excellent company perks, such as regular drinks in our own bar.
What do we expect of you?
